On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Kosovo, the Center “Genocide in Kosovo – An Open Wound” will light candles on January 15, starting at 19:30, as a sign of respect and remembrance for the victims of genocide in Kosovo.
In Prishtina, activists of the Center will light candles at “Skënderbeu” Square, while those who are unable to join in person are encouraged to light candles on their home balconies.
“At the same time, we invite war victims’ associations and citizens of other cities to find appropriate ways to commemorate the victims of Serbia’s genocide in Kosovo,” the announcement states.
We recall that on May 16, 2019, the Assembly of Kosovo adopted a resolution through which the crimes committed during the war in Kosovo were classified as genocide, and January 15 was designated as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Serbia’s Genocide in Kosovo.
