The Kosovo national team held its final training session today before departing for Slovakia, as part of preparations for the World Cup 2026 play-off semifinal.

The Dardanians showed high motivation and energy during the training sessions at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium, reflecting their seriousness and commitment to this important challenge.

The President of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi, said the team atmosphere is very good, the players are currently well-prepared, and while they are not overexcited, they all want to win. He expressed strong confidence in the team and praised the work of the coaching staff.

Ademi also emphasized that he has asked the players to give their absolute maximum, 120%, and to overcome all challenges both on and off the field.

“I have asked the players, and I say it publicly to everyone: each of us must give 120% to defeat and overcome all challenges on and off the field, and in the end, come out as winners. This opportunity has come to us, and we will do everything to seize it and see it through to the end,” Ademi told KosovaPress.

Meanwhile, striker Vedat Muriqi told FIFA that qualifying for the 2026 World Cup would be the perfect way to close his career, hinting that he might retire after this major success. However, Ademi clarified that the player will not completely leave football, as he will always remain close to the team.

“He certainly won’t stop playing football, but he is very aware that for the younger players and the generational transition, he will always be part of our team. Wherever he is, Vedat will remain a member of the national team, both on and off the field,” Ademi said.

The match between Slovakia and Kosovo will take place on Thursday at 08:45 PM.
