Activist from 'Not a cent more' group arrested during protest
Several activists from the group "Not a cent more" were arrested today after blocking the building of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) in the morning, as part of a symbolic action against the 15% increase in electricity prices starting in April, KosovaPress reports.
The arrested individuals were taken to the police station. It is reported that ten activists were arrested.
Initially, the activists of the "Not a cent more" group blocked the door of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE), preventing ZRRE employees from entering until "ZRRE makes a decision to not increase the electricity price by 15%."
The announcement of the price increase has sparked significant reactions and dissatisfaction among citizens and businesses. The presidency has also opposed this price increase, but so far, the Government of Kosovo has not opposed it, except for requesting an increase in the number of blocks for consumers.
Due to the dissatisfaction, another protest is scheduled for April 5th in Pristina,
