From January until now, the Kosovo Police have confiscated over 1,200 weapons without a permit, this number has increased compared to the same period of the previous year. However, security sector experts say that the large number of weapons is increasing year by year.

Illegal weapons continue to be a concern for citizens and institutions in Kosovo. The police have so far engaged in several actions, mainly in schools, where they have confiscated hundreds of weapons. However, it is thought that the most weapons are in the north of Kosovo, where local and international security institutions have never taken any action.

Security experts blame the institutions responsible for disobeying the law against people whose weapons are confiscated without a permit, while they demand actions for the confiscation of weapons without a permit
