For the thirty-first time, the ninth legislature has failed to convene.
The session chairman, Avni Dehari, also started this session by requesting the formation of a commission for secret voting, but the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) refused to give names, arguing that the rules were violated because the session started with an open vote and now they are attempting to continue with a secret vote. Dehari put the formation of this commission to a vote without party names but did not receive enough votes.
The thirty episodes so far of this ongoing drama, which will be remembered for a long time, have failed due to the lack of votes from Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo, and Alternativa for a new Speaker of the Assembly, reports KosovaPress.
Albulena Haxhiu has “failed the test” six times directly in open votes, and more than twenty times the formation of the commission to oversee the secret voting process has failed, which is opposed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, and NISMA.The continuation of the constitutive session must be held every forty-eight hours until the new composition of the Assembly is confirmed.
