On July 5, 1990, Serbian forces, by order of their Government, banned the broadcast of Radio Television of Prishtina, abbreviated as RTP or TVP.

RTP was the first Albanian radio and television of Kosovo. The interruption of programs of this television was made by the Serbian government with violent measures, in 1990. Radio Prishtina started working immediately after the Second World War, in 1945, in Prizren, and then it was transferred to Prishtina.
