25 years of freedom, leaders and international figures commemorate the sacrifices and progress of Kosovo
The 25th anniversary of the Liberation of Kosovo was celebrated with a state reception, which was attended by important local figures and international personalities. In this case, the president of the country, Vjosa Osmani, has thanked everyone who has contributed to the citizens of the country enjoying freedom today adding that Kosovo is already going strong and democratic and as an example of a stoic people that will never give up freedom.
Vjosa Osmani also expressed her gratitude to the allied friends who have supported and continue to support the freedom and independence of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, the prime minister, Albin Kurti, while remembering the liberation of the country 25 years ago, has chosen to thank four figures after whom squares and streets have been named, statues erected in the cities of Kosovo.
While he added that a quarter of a century after the departure of the occupying forces of Serbia, Kosovo is a champion in the Western Balkans for progress in democracy and the rule of law. He added that the economy of Kosovo this year will be five and a half times larger than in 2000.
On the other hand, the former president of Switzerland, Micheline Calmy-Rey, recalled the declaration of Kosovo's independence. Meanwhile, he emphasized that 25 years after liberation, Kosovo needs more recognition from other countries to enter and join many organizations.
On the 25th anniversary of the Liberation of Kosovo, 16 squads of the KSF, seven of the Kosovo Police, with a total of over 1,500 members, paraded.
