A serious traffic accident with fatal consequences occurred in the early hours of Monday on the Peja–Pristina national road, near Komoran, where a 24-year-old woman lost her life, while three other people were injured.
Kosovo Police spokesperson Daut Hoxha confirmed to KosovaPress that the accident occurred at around 5:30 am and was a single-vehicle accident.
“Today, at around 5:30 am, a traffic accident with fatal consequences occurred on the Peja–Pristina national road, near Komoran. As a result of the accident (single-vehicle accident), one person lost their life, while three other people sustained bodily injuries. The competent police units, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the case,” Hoxha said.The three injured people were sent for medical treatment and, according to initial information, are out of danger.
Traffic Investigation Units, emergency teams and other competent units responded at the scene and conducted an examination of the site. On the orders of the duty prosecutor, the victim’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, while the case is under investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
