Today, the Kosovo Police celebrates 23 years since its establishment.

On September 6, 1999, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, in accordance with United Nations Resolution 1244, opened the Police School and began training candidates for members of the Kosovo Police.

The first generation of candidates for members of this Service began training in this center on September 6, 1999. This generation numbered 176 members, who successfully completed the training and then began practicing police activity throughout the territory of Kosovo as the first policemen of this the service.
