Kosovar boxing legend, Xhevdet Peci died yesterday at the age of 67. The news for KosovaPress was confirmed by the Secretary of the Boxing Federation of Kosovo, Latif Demolli, who said that he died in the United States of America, where a part of his family is. Demolli also said that it is still unknown when the funeral ceremony of Peci will take place, but that they are in contact with his family and other details will be revealed in the future, reports KosovaPress. Peci was born on April 17, 1955, while he started boxing at the age of 16. In 1973 Peci together with his coach Lah Nimani became part of the Boxing Club "Prishtina", a club with which he had great success and won many trophies. These are the titles won by Xhevdet Peci in his career: Four-time champion of the former Yugoslavia in individual competition Five-time champion of the former Yugoslavia in team competition Two-time Balkan Champion From 1999 he was the chairman of the professional council of the Boxing Federation of Kosovo In 2000, the city of Mitrovica chose him as the athlete of the century
