The Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, said that the closing of six units of the Postal Savings Bank in the north was done because they operated in violation of the law and without the relevant license. Asked about the reaction of the U.S. Department of State (DOS), he underlined that each action of the institutions is based on legality and the extent of sovereignty in every corner of the country.

At the media conference, after the Government meeting on Wednesday, Murat said that it is now in the hands of the justice system how they will act from now on, regarding the confiscation of 1.6 million euros and over 74 million dinars.

Speaking about the reaction of the US Department of State, in which it was said that such uncoordinated actions escalate tensions in the north, Murati said that every action of Kosovo's institutions is based on legality and the extension of sovereignty in every corner of the country.

He said the opening of these postal units in 2018 was wrong and harmful.

Meanwhile, he emphasized that regarding the CBK Regulation, which prohibits the use of the dinar in Kosovo, several proposals have been offered in Brussels, but Serbia was not ready to accept it as there is no aim to facilitate the Serbian citizens in Kosovo.

On the other hand, the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, was also present at the media conference, who said that they are taking concrete steps to prevent the degradation of nature.

In addition, he said that they are in the final stage of drafting the plan for the flood risk map.

During the action in the north of the country, the Kosovo Police closed six branches of the Postal Savings Bank. In the announcement issued by the police, it is known that 1.6 million euros and over 74 million dinars were confiscated.
