Balje after meeting with Kurti: We presented our requests, we are in the discussion phase

The leader of the Social Democratic Union party, Duda Balje, after a meeting with the outgoing Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, stated that they are in the phase of meetings and have presented several requests from the Bosnian community, ​KosovaPress reports.

Balje said that they neither received confirmation from Kurti nor gave any confirmation. She mentioned that the next meeting has not been scheduled yet, adding that they have also met with opposition parties and the requests are the same.

She also mentioned that during the meeting they raised several requests of the Bosnian community, including the Bosniak municipality, reforms in education, and the equal treatment of all deputies.

“We have spoken, we are part of the Assembly, we have the right to speak with anyone... They will also see, (Kurti) will think, and we are waiting for the next meeting... (The conditions) are the same,” added Balje.

Kurti today also met with Fikrim Damka from the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo, ​KosovaPress ​reports.

Yesterday, Albin Kurti announced that he has started consultations with non-majority communities for the formation of the new government. He said on Wednesday that he met with the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDS) from the Bosnian community, Emilija Rexhepi, the leader of the Party for Freedom, Justice, and Survival from the Serbian community, Nenad Rashiq, and the leader of the New Democratic Initiative of Kosovo (IRDK), Elbert Krasniqi, where they discussed the formation of the new government.

It is worth noting that the Vetevendosje Movement won the parliamentary elections on February 9 with 42.3 percent. The second place is held by PDK with 20.95 percent, followed by LDK with 18.27 percent, and the AAK-Nisma coalition with 7.06 percent. Based on these figures, Vetëvendosje will have 48 deputies, PDK 24, LDK 20, AAK-Nisma 8, and 20 reserved seats for non-majority communities.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has set April 15 as the date for the inaugural session of the new legislature, arising from the February 9 elections.

Meanwhile, at 11:30, the Roma party is also expected to have a meeting with the outgoing Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
