Today marks 25 years since the Izbica massacre, where on March 28, 1999, Serbian police and military forces, after surrounding thousands of civilians in the village of Izbica and surrounding settlements, singled out 147 young men and old men, killed and massacred them, while the rest were deported out of Kosovo.

The massacre of Izbica is one of the most serious crimes of the state of Serbia, where the mass murder, the desecration of the bodies and their burial, through satellite images, became world news.

Today, 25 years after this crime, none of the Serbian perpetrators and executioners came before local and international justice.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the massacre in Izbica, the Municipality of Skenderaj will organize a commemorative gathering today at the Memorial Complex in Izbica, starting at 10:00.
