Zogaj demands responsibility for delays in criminal cases
The Chairman of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), Albert Zogaj, has said that the duration of the handling of criminal cases shows unacceptable statistics and there should be responsibility in cases where there is a lack of organization and justification of work in the office.
Chairman Zogaj, at the next meeting of the Kosovo Judicial Council, said that the agenda of judges should be reviewed and so that all are equally burdened with work.
He focused on delays in criminal cases.
“The delays in these cases generates unacceptable statistics of the case forecast, which is a main concern of the Judicial Council, and I think that it should be a concern of the committee, the courts, but also of the judges who are in charge of these cases. In any case where it is objectively impossible to handle, this means that we can have a justification, but in the case where there is a lack of organization and justification of the work in the office, this means that we must have responsibility. And I believe that the commission should focus on this very issue. Regarding corruption and organized crime, I think that the committee should move to a level, not only of monitoring, but also of serious, professional recommendations, in particular, taking into account your professional capacity, since it is a committee composed of Supreme Court judges,” said Zogaj.
