The United States Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, from Shkodra where she is monitoring the election process, made an appeal to the citizens. She reiterated that citizens should go out and vote freely, adding that this day belongs to them, while saying that the US does not support any particular party or candidate. "I had a wonderful opportunity to see democracy in action in Albania. I'm glad to see that the ID card system is running smoothly, in fact I saw a case where the system did not work and the backup plan was implemented immediately. I want to emphasize that the US does not support any particular political party or candidate, but we support the right of Albanians to vote and we hope that every citizen will vote free from fear and without interference. This is your day".
