"We don't forget", protest against the retrial of Marigona Osmani's murder case
The Collective for Feminist Thought and Action opposed today through a protest the decision of the Court of Appeal to retrial the case of the murder of Marigona Osmani.
The protesters in front of the Palace of Justice held the banners "We do not forget", "Justice for Marigona", "Safety and Justice for women", thus expressing their revolt against the decision of the Appeal.
Bjeshke Guri, a member of the Collective, has criticized the decision of the Appeal, saying that the court never addressed the most problematic issues in the case of the murder of Marigona Osmani.
The Basic Court in Ferizaj has sentenced Dardan Krivaca to life imprisonment for the murder of Marigona Osmani. Guri says that the inclusion of a motive for the murder, which is also problematic in itself, does not rule out that the killing was carried out in a cruel manner.
Guri emphasized that Marigona's case will not be allowed to be dragged to the courts and deepen the pain of her family members.
Guri mentioned that Marigona Osmani had 12 broken ribs as a result of the violence against her.
18-year-old Marigona Osmani was killed in August 2021 in the apartment of the main accused, Dardan Krivaca. In the judgment of the Founder, it was said that Krivaca, on August 21 and 22, two years ago, for reasons of jealousy and knowingly, exercised extreme violence against the deceased, with whom he was living in his apartment. On February 23, the Court of Appeal sent back the case against Dardan Krivaca and Arbër Sejdiu, convicted by the Basic Court for the murder of Marigona Osmani.
