The recount process has been completed at Kosovo's Municipal Counting Centres and at the Counting and Results Centre, which aimed to ensure the accuracy of the ballot counting process at the MCCs.
The Counting and Results Centre will prepare a detailed report regarding the findings for each polling station, and based on these findings, CEC officials will notify the competent authorities to take further action.
At a press conference, the spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Valmir Elezi, said that they are now waiting for complaints related to the administration of the counting from the last day at the CRC in order to announce the final results.“At 12:00, the recount process of all polling stations, 185 of them, for which the CEC decided to be recounted, was completed. The data from this recount process has been updated on the CEC results platform. With the completion of the recount, we can conclude that the CEC has finalized the administration of the process, which includes activities at the MCC and CRC. The CEC is now ready to announce the final results of the June 7 elections, although we must still wait to see whether there will be any complaints regarding the administration of the counting from the last day at the CRC,” said Elezi.
He also noted that the CEC will request confirmation from the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel on whether any complaints are under review. For any suspicious findings during the recount process, Elezi said the Prosecution will be notified. The deadline for complaints from parliamentary candidates will be 48 hours from 12:00 on Friday afternoon.
