Vote counting and verification process in Mitrovica is expected to be completed today
Vote verification and counting at the Municipal Counting Centre (QKN) in South Mitrovica is expected to be completed today, as most ballot boxes have already been counted, reports KosovaPress.
The Chair of the Municipal Election Commission in South Mitrovica, Bajram Hajdari, said the process began on Monday in the second shift and has proceeded according to plan, without any problems or complaints from counting teams.
“The process of verifying and counting votes began on Monday in the second shift. We are now almost at the end of the first shift of the third working day, and everything is expected to be completed today. According to the plan, the entire counting and verification process at the Municipal Counting Centre in Mitrovica will be finished. There are a total of 100 ballot boxes from 100 polling stations. So far, 70 boxes have been counted, while 30 remain. Of these, 10 are currently being counted, while 20 will be processed in the second shift. Once these are completed, the entire process will be closed. We have had no complaints from the counting teams; everything has gone smoothly and very well. We hope the remaining part of the process will conclude in the same way,” Hajdari said.
According to preliminary results from the CEC, the leading party in the June 7 elections is Vetëvendosje with 42.95% or 299,328 votes, followed by PDK with 21.14% or 147,292 votes, LDK in third place with 17.60% or 122,659 votes, and AAK in fourth with 7.16% or 49,913 votes.
