The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says it has received a request from the Ukrainian nuclear power authority to provide immediate assistance in coordinating activities related to the security of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and other nuclear facilities." The request came after Russia notified the IAEA that its forces had taken control of territory around Ukraine's Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said on Tuesday. Hundreds of workers and locals have blocked an access road to the Ukrainian nuclear power plant near the southeastern city of Enerhodar. CNN-verified social media footage Wednesday showed Power plant workers and other local citizens blocking access to the plant, one of the largest nuclear power plants in Europe.
