Two men and a woman were arrested yesterday in Gjilan, after allegedly treating an elderly person illegally.

According to the Police, the suspects may have opened a "Home for the elderly" and with the purpose of personal benefit for the elderly woman's care, her family members paid 1 thousand euros per month.

"Gjilan 10.02.2023 17:20 On 03.03.2023, 3 Kosovar suspects (two males and one female) were arrested as it is suspected that they have illegally supervised and treated the elderly Kosovar female victim. The suspects may have opened a "Home for the elderly", where for the purpose of personal benefit, in this case for the care of the elderly woman, her family members paid €1000 per month, the Police reports.

By the prosecutor's decision, one suspect was sent to detention, while the other two suspects were released in a regular procedure.

The case has been described as "Unconscionable medical treatment-fraud".
