The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj has announced that three individuals have been detained on suspicion of several criminal offenses, including abuse of official position, document forgery, and legalization of false content.

According to the Prosecution, by decision of the State Prosecutor from the Serious Crimes Department, an order has been issued to open an investigation, while on the basis of a court order from the Basic Court in Ferizaj, searches were carried out in the homes and associated premises of the suspects. Following this, the individuals were detained for 48 hours.

The authorities say that two of the defendants did not engage legal defense counsel, and therefore, by verbal order of the prosecutor, the Kosovo Bar Association was requested to appoint lawyers ex officio.

However, according to the Prosecution, the coordination office of the Bar initially requested additional details regarding the identity of the defendants and the criminal offenses, which has been considered an obstruction in the conduct of the investigative procedure. The State Prosecutor has warned of legal consequences in case of non-compliance with the requests of law enforcement and justice institutions.

According to a statement, investigations into the case are ongoing.
