In the World Boxing Championship that will begin on Tuesday in India, Kosovo aimed for elite medals through boxer Donjeta Sadiku, but her appearance there is going toward failure.

The host country, India, has not issued visas for Donjeta and her accompanying team precisely because they do not recognize Kosovo as an independent country.

When there are only a few hours left until the start of the championship, KosovaPress learns from its sources that the Ministry of Sports is still in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India and the latter has requested that Kosovo can be part of World Championships only if he agrees to compete without state symbols.

Still according to KosovaPress sources, MCYS and the Boxing Federation are consulting about this request and in the next few hours they will come out with an official decision.

Some countries are not participating in this championship, due to the participation of Russian athletes, Donjeta Sadiku is the favorite boxer to win the gold medal in India.
