Five European media outlets, including KosovaPress from Kosovo, Krytyka Polityczna from Poland, Večer from Slovenia, Deník Alarm from the Czech Republic, and Forbes Bulgaria from Bulgaria, have been selected as beneficiaries of the Business Innovation Synergizer (BIS) program, which supports innovative initiatives in the media sector. This program, part of the Media Innovation Europe 2.0 project, will provide financial support and mentorship to help the five beneficiaries achieve their goals of operational transformation and strengthen their digital business models.

This support is part of the BIS program's efforts to encourage European media to adopt the latest technologies and increase audience trust through high-quality journalism.

In our case, KosovaPress will receive support to use the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence to improve operations in the newsroom. Part of this innovation includes the integration of advanced technologies for news verification, as well as the integration of speech-to-text and text-to-speech systems. This initiative aims to provide an enhanced experience for users and increase the operational efficiency of the agency.

This program will assist KosovaPress in its commitment to embrace technological innovations and offer more advanced services to its readers, making it an excellent example of digital transformation in both the Albanian and European media.

By stimulating the strengthening of a collaborative media innovation ecosystem across Europe, this program aims to build sustainable media through the process of innovation and the transformation of digital business models," says the announcement on the platform: www.journalift.org.

BIS is implemented as part of the Media Innovation Europe 2.0 project, a multidisciplinary and multi-project program that has funded more than 50 media organizations over the past two years. Led by the International Press Institute (IPI) based in Vienna, the consortium brings together Thomson Media (TM), The Fix Foundation (TFF), and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN). The program is supported by the European Union.
