The United States of America, in addition to being a strategic ally for our country, is also the main partner for the export of Kosovo's goods to American markets.
In January of this year, the value of goods exported with the countries of the world reached 20.1 million euros, or 33.4 percent.
Data from the Foreign Trade of Goods in Kosovo show that Kosovo's exports to EU countries reached 18.4 million euros, or about 30.5% of total exports, with a decrease of 6.9%.
"The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were: Germany (8.8%), Italy (4.7%), the Netherlands (3.1%), etc.", reports KAS.
"Imports with the highest participation were from: Germany (12.8%), Greece (7.2%), Italy (3.7%), etc.".
Meanwhile, this year, Turkey continues to remain the main partner for the import of goods.
"The countries with the highest import share in this group were: Turkey (15.4%) and China (11.3%)," says the KAS report on foreign trade.
Meanwhile, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries reached 21.8 million euros, or 36.1 percent of total exports, with a decrease of 16.2 percent.
Meanwhile, imports from CEFTA countries reached 57.7 million euros, or 15.2% of total imports, with a decrease of 5.8 percent.
"The countries with the highest import participation were: Albania (7.6%), North Macedonia (4.7%), Serbia (1.9%)," the report states.
The export of goods in January of this year was worth 60.3 million euros, while the import was 380 million euros, which is a decrease of 3 percent for export as well as a 7.4 percent increase in import, compared to the same period of 2023.
According to the data of the main export groups: 25.4% are base metals and their articles; 19.3% are various manufactured items; 13.1% consists of plastics, tires and their articles; 8.3% are prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 6.2% is made up of machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment, etc., it is stated in the report "Foreign Trade Statistics (STJ), January 2024", of KAS.
