The Government of Kosovo has approved the decision for the mid-term review of the Rule of Law Strategy and Action Plan 2025-2026.

At today's executive meeting, the regulation on the local coordination mechanism for protection from domestic violence, violence against women and gender-based violence was also adopted. Also at this meeting, the government appointed Leonita Shabani-Mullarama as Secretary General at the Ministry of Economy

The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, said that through the adoption of the Rule of Law Strategy, they aim to have an efficient judiciary and prosecution.

“These are documents that are foreseen within the framework of the national development plan. We are presenting these documents to you as a result of a long and comprehensive process of their preparation. Based on these analyses conducted over the past year, challenges that need to be addressed in the coming years have been identified. Therefore, the new action plan identifies five strategic objectives. An efficient, professional and integrity-based judiciary and prosecution. Strengthening the criminal justice system, strengthening the civil and administrative justice system, as well as the digitalization of justice”, she said.

On the other hand, the government decided to extend the mandate of the Committee for the Verification of Diplomas of the University of North Mitrovica for another 6 months.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the purpose of establishing this Committee was to enable citizens of the non-majority community to access the labor market and have equal opportunities within the state administration.
