At the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, the scheduled hearings in the Thaçi et al. case resume today.

The previous sessions had been postponed due to the delay in the testimony of U.S. diplomat Christopher Hill.

According to the court’s schedule, Hill will begin his testimony at 2:00 PM, which will continue until 5:00 PM.

The hearings are expected to continue over the next three days as well.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi have been in detention since November 2020, accused of alleged war crimes, charges to which they have all pleaded not guilty.

Their trial began in April 2023.

Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army continue to oppose the Specialist Chambers, arguing that Serbian crimes committed in Kosovo should be prosecuted instead.

They have called on members of the Kosovo Assembly to amend the law on the Specialist Chambers, but such an initiative has not succeeded.

In August 2015, after a marathon session, Kosovo Assembly deputies voted on constitutional amendments that enabled the establishment of the Specialist Court.
