Although today the institution of the Kosovo Police is celebrating its 23rd anniversary, police officers still do not have health insurance. On this 23rd anniversary, the policemen are finding themselves without the Law on early retirement, a common request of theirs. The President of the Kosovo Police Union, Imer Zeqiri, said that if the Government of Kosovo does not act in terms of their demands for the Salary Law, they will take union actions.

In an interview for KosovaPress, he said that the Kosovo Police, with the oldest average age in the region, is in great need of the Law on early retirement.

According to him, this law, although finalized, has not yet been sent to the Assembly despite the commitment of the Government of Kosovo that this will happen soon.
