The opposition parties in Kosovo are skeptical about Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe (CoE) this year. The three opposition parties, PDK, LDK and AAK criticize the executive for lack of strategy and lobbying, when next month it will be 1 year since Kosovo submitted its application for membership in the Council of Europe. On the other hand, the Council of Europe has not responded whether Kosovo's application will be reviewed at the meeting of the Committee of Ministers in May of this year.

The MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Ariana Musliu-Shoshi, tells KosovaPress that the reluctance to consider Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe is also present in countries that have recognized Kosovo's independence, alongside non-recognising countries.

The opposition MP, who is also a member of the Assembly's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, emphasizes that there are countries with great power that are not supporting Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
