The Vetevendosje Movement has as a priority the amendment of the Law on Elections to enable the diaspora to vote in embassies and consulates, and it aims to make this amendment before the local elections. This is again being opposed by opposition parties and civil society, who state that the priority should be comprehensive electoral reform and not such a supplement. The position has tried to make such an amendment to the Election Law even before the election of the country's president, but after objections, it withdrew from this initiative. The Chairman of the Committee on Legislation, Adnan Rrustemi, says that it is important to address the electoral reform, but he states that the priority of all issues is to enable the diaspora to vote in embassies and consulates. Although he does not give a date when this party will send the amendment of the Election Law to the Assembly again, he says that such a thing will be done very soon so that it is ready for the local elections that will be held in autumn.
