The only Serbian candidate for the elections in North Mitrovica has withdrawn, CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi announced.

Elezi said for KosovaPress that Aleksandar Arsenijevic submitted the decision to withdraw on December 2, which, as he said, is within the legal deadline set by the CEC.

"I can confirm that on December 2, 2022, within the legal deadline set by the CEC for the withdrawal of political subjects, we received the notification for the withdrawal of the candidate of the Civic Initiative "Srpski Opstanak", Aleksandar Arsenijevic, from the race for mayor in North Mitrovica. In the written explanation that we received, he withdrew his candidacy with his own free will," said Elezi.
