The 17 new American Peace Corps volunteers in Kosovo have been sworn in. This is the eighth group of volunteers, where more than 200 women and men have come to Kosovo to date. The same will contribute to increasing the quality of teaching in Kosovo's schools, it was said at their swearing-in ceremony. The eighth group of volunteers will serve for two years in Kosovo.

In less than three months, Andrew Fellows has learned to give a speech in the Albanian language, which he had not thought of before coming to Kosovo.

Even Peter Appleby is part of the group of 17 young volunteers, who said that at first he knew little about Kosovo.

In the solemn oath of these volunteers, the ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier said that so far more than 200 volunteers have served in Kosovo.

President Vjosa Osmani has welcomed the eighth group of volunteers to Kosovo. She said that the presence of volunteers in Kosovo is the best example of partnership with the United States of America.

Even the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci emphasized that the Peace Corps has been providing this support in Kosovo since 2014.

The director of the Peace Corps in Kosovo, Carolyne Siganda, presented the 17 volunteers, where she also spoke about the period since their arrival in Kosovo.

For ten weeks in a row, these volunteers got to know the generosity and welcome of Kamenica, Koretina and Topanica.

Today they complete the training program and begin their two-year service in Kosovo. Some as English language teachers and some as collaborators in support of municipalities and non-governmental organizations.
