This year, the number of workers who lost their lives at the workplace has increased. In comparison with 2021 when there were 9 deaths, in 2022 there were 14 lost lives. Most cases with fatality were registered in the construction sector. The Labor Inspectorate says that this year there were even more fines imposed on companies that did not take care of the safety of workers. Meanwhile, the Association of Builders blames the institutions for the lack of inspectors.
