Miners from Trepça’s second shift exited the mine about three hours ago after being trapped for around seven hours, KosovaPress reports.

The incident occurred as a result of a malfunction in the electricity supply, which prevented them from exiting the mine.

The head of the Miners’ Union, Ibrahim Januzi, told KosovaPress that at the time he spoke to the media, he did not have complete information about the situation.

“Due to a power failure, the second shift was trapped. I don’t have much information, because I have not yet been informed by anyone. I also learned about this from the news,” he said.

It is recalled that on January 11 this year as well, due to a power outage inside the mine, five duty pump operators were trapped for about 8 to 9 hours.
