The 15.4 percent increase in electricity prices risks bankrupting many businesses in the country, especially the small ones. These businesses do not rule out the possibility of bankruptcy if the government does not take any measures to ease energy bills. Meanwhile, they also warn of the increase in prices for their products.

However, Kosovo Government officials have told KosovaPress that they will subsidize families and small businesses to reduce energy consumption by enabling the purchase of efficient equipment.

The manager of one of the businesses in Pristina, Hysni Gashi, tells KosovaPress that this decision to increase the price of electricity is at the wrong time. According to him, if the government does not react, they will go bankrupt as a business.
