Kosovo has not yet identified any cases of HMPV (Metapneumovirus) and there is no room for panic.
This was stated by the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, who said that they are in constant contact with the appropriate mechanisms.
“There are no cases of HMPV, we are prepared. The National Institute of Public Health and the Ministry of Health are in constant contact with all the most adequate mechanisms that exist in the world today regarding these problems, especially when it comes to infectious and contagious diseases, and we are also in constant contact with the WHO... The first moment a case appears, does not mean that it will appear in our country. The moment a case appears in our country, we immediately take measures... All measures are taken with the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health and the recommendations are then forwarded to the UCHSK, where the relevant clinics, the Infectious Diseases Clinic and the Pulmonology Clinic in this case, take measures so that if a case appears, it can be reacted to immediately”, he said.
