The foundation stone of the Residential Center for elderly people in Podujeva is laid
Today, the foundation stone was laid for the
construction of the Residential Center for elderly people in the municipality
of Podujeva.
This center cost 530,000 euros and is a joint
investment of the municipality and the Charity Association "Balkan
Orphans".
In the residential center for the elderly,
modern living is planned for all the elderly who do not have family care. The
center will have primary health care, hostels, physiotherapy, and many other
services.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Albin Kurti
said that just like in Europe, the elderly in Kosovo will be able to live in
common centers.
The mayor of the municipality of Podujeva,
Shpejtim Bulliqi, has announced that around 100 elderly people will receive
services at this center during the day.
Meanwhile, the humanist Halil Kastrati said
that in addition to elderly people, 25 students who travel from distant areas
for studies will be able to stay in this center.
