Today, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the Residential Center for elderly people in the municipality of Podujeva.

This center cost 530,000 euros and is a joint investment of the municipality and the Charity Association "Balkan Orphans".

In the residential center for the elderly, modern living is planned for all the elderly who do not have family care. The center will have primary health care, hostels, physiotherapy, and many other services.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that just like in Europe, the elderly in Kosovo will be able to live in common centers.

The mayor of the municipality of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, has announced that around 100 elderly people will receive services at this center during the day.

Meanwhile, the humanist Halil Kastrati said that in addition to elderly people, 25 students who travel from distant areas for studies will be able to stay in this center.
