The former Deputy Prime Minister of Albania, Senida Mesi, has said that through tolerance and peace there will be economic development.

In the first session of the Balkan Leadership Conference "Peace, Security and Development in the Western Balkans", held in Prishtina, she said that economic and energy crises have come as a result of the war in Ukraine, and the lack of peace. "Lack of peace and tolerance does not help, what helps is the partnership to achieve sustainable development. But if we have a war, it goes against what we do", she said. The former Deputy Prime Minister said that without tolerance and world peace it is difficult to achieve the goals of this millennium. "Tolerance and peace promote economic development. Without them, it is difficult to achieve the goals of the millennium... We must talk more and more about how to promote peace in order to have economic development", she said. This conference is organized by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), in partnership with the KosovaPress News Agency, the Washington Times Foundation, the International Media Association for Peace (IMAP), and the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP).
