EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi is paying an official visit to Belgrade today. Varhelyi, together with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Bernabic, will visit the Institute of Public Health "Dr. Milan Jovanovic Batut", the Serbian government announced. On Tuesday, the European official will stop in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and northern Macedonia, while on Wednesday he will visit Albania and Kosovo, the EC explained earlier. The announcement said Varhelyi would talk to local officials about the coronavirus pandemic and EU support in this context. The European Union is intensively committed to enabling the delivery of vaccines against Covid 19 in the Western Balkans. Most recently, there were approximately 651,000 doses of Pfizer / BionTech vaccines, intended for countries in the region. The purpose of delivering these vaccines is to immunize health professionals and other priority groups.
