The Chamber of Trade and Industry Kosova calls an extraordinary press conference
The Chamber of Trade and Industry Kosova (CTIK) has called an extraordinary press conference. The conference will be held in front of the Government building of Kosovo at Skënderbeu Square, starting at 12:00.
Although the reason for this conference is currently unknown, the CTIK has continuously requested the annulment of the decision by the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) regarding the transition of businesses to the open energy market.
Yesterday, the ERO informed businesses about the end of the guaranteed supply period the Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR).
According to the ERO, all consumers currently supplied with electricity by KEK as the Supplier of Last Resort will see this guaranteed supply period end on July 30, 2025, for those who began using this service starting from June 1, 2025, reports KosovaPress.
Likewise, KEK announced recently that July 30 will be the last day it will supply electricity to all consumers who have not found a supplier on the open market, the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) confirmed.
On the other hand, on June 12, 2025, the Board of the Energy Regulatory Office decided in its meeting to appoint KEK as the Supplier of Last Resort for a six-month period — from July 31, 2025, until January 30, 2026.
