The average price of flour at the highest level in ten years

The average price of wheat flour has doubled in the last 10 years in Kosovo. So, the price for this food product continues to increase year after year in our country. Thus, the price for one kilogram of wheat flour reached 0.81 cents in December 2024, an increase of 42 cents per kilogram, compared to 2014, when this price was only 0.39 cents. According to data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics,  average price for wheat flour went from 0.39 cents to 0.81 cents per kilogram compared to 2014 in 2024, KosovaPress reports.

Meanwhile, the average price of bread as flour products in 2024 according to KAS was 0.51 cents.

In addition to the wheat flour product, price increases were also recorded in other consumer products during December 2024. According to this Agency, the overall harmonized consumer price index is higher by an average of 1.1 percent in December 2024, compared to December 2023. Meanwhile, monthly inflation was 0.7 percent in December 2024. Meanwhile, the average annual inflation rate for 2024 is 1.6 percent.

Consumer prices increased during 2024 by 14.4 percent for coffee, tea and cocoa, 9.3 percent for oils and fats, 9.1 percent for financial services, 9.1 percent for mineral water, non-alcoholic beverages, fruit and vegetable juices, 5.9 percent, and 2.6 percent for bread and cereals.
