The number of people infected with COVID-19 in recent weeks has increased to record levels. Only on Wednesday, the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPHK) announced that 4 thousand 397 citizens have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Regarding the epidemiological situation with COVID-19, an extraordinary session will be held in the Assembly of Kosovo. The item on the agenda will be the parliamentary debate on the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic in Kosovo. The aggravated pandemic situation in the country has been the reason that the Minister of Health, Rifat Latifi reported on Wednesday before the MPs of the Committee for Health and Social Welfare. During the reporting, Latifi said that in recent weeks our country is facing a rapid increase in positive cases, where the Omicron variant is dominant, but stressed that despite this increase the number of hospitalized in clinics and hospitals continues to be low.
