The Assembly of Kosovo failed to constitute itself even on the twenty-seventh attempt. The latest attempt by the Vetëvendosje Movement to form the commission for the secret ballot vote of the Speaker of Parliament again did not receive support from other political parties. The session was interrupted, and its continuation will take place on June 7 at 11:00 AM.

Only 50 deputies voted in favor of the Commission for the secret ballot vote of the Speaker.

“50 deputies voted in favor, none against, no abstentions, there is no quorum. We will meet again on June 7 at 11:00,” said the session chair, Avni Dehari.

For 18 consecutive sessions, a quorum has not been reached for voting on the commission for the secret ballot vote of the Speaker.

On the other hand, in the first six attempts through open voting, the Vetëvendosje Movement has failed to secure the 61 votes needed to elect Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly.

The parties that were previously in opposition are seeking another candidate, as they consider Albulena Haxhiu to be an unacceptable choice.
