The establishment of this commission was also welcomed by the chief diplomat Donika Gërvalla, who said that through it the numerous irregularities that have occurred in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the years will be proven.
According to her, this commission should not define the work only in the years 2021-2023, although she emphasized that a deep reform has been made in the diplomatic service.
Gërvalla mentioned the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, that according to her, during his period, no criteria for competitions and employment were respected, and that ambassadors and consuls were appointed in cafes, and were part of political bargains.
She also emphasized that the establishment of this commission is being done as a result of the internal war in PDK, to discredit Hoxhaj.
62 MP voted in favor of the establishment of this commission, two were against, and one abstained.
On the other hand, the Assembly did not have a quorum to establish the other investigative commission, regarding the executive responsibilities of the Ministry of Justice in relation to the suspicious fires in the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the disappearance of samples in the case of Astrit Dehari and any action or inaction of this ministry that violated the independence and legal responsibilities of this institute, as the majority MPs did not participate in the vote. /KosovaPress/
