The assassin dressed in Orthodox uniform, Savicic suspected of being the executioner in Panda case
Davor Savicic, a Serb born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is now somewhere in Russia. Probably still part of the Russian Wagner paramilitary group, a group that the Western intelligence services had ascertained that he had been part of. However, exactly 23 years ago, Savicic is suspected of having executed six young Serbs in Peja, one of the most spectacular cases of the fabrication of Serbia's security system during the war in Kosovo.
Agim Musliu, security expert, told Kosovapress that, “Davor Savicic, according to the residents of Peja, during the war was part of the Special Operational Unit led by the Serbian secret service, led by Arkan and Legija. That the secret service, together with Legija's unit are responsible, was also written by the press controlled by Vucic's government - the daily ‘Kurir’ in 2014.”
He further said that Serbia, instead of exposing this fabrication, it continues to fabricate and lie about the Kosovo war, accusing the Westerners as well.
"Look at Vulin, the man who speaks when Vucic does not want to say things himself! He, without shame, said that the Recak massacre is fabricated. With these lies, they have constantly tried to change the narrative of the crime, not only for Kosovo, but for all the massacres in the former Yugoslavia," Musliu said.
"Davor Saviciqi, on his Facebook profile, posts various photos. He is proud to be an orthodox and a murderer," he said.
On the evening of 14 December 1998, in a cafeteria owned by Bosnian citizen Mirsad Shabovic, six young Serbs were executed while playing cards: Ivan Obradovic (14), Vukota Gvozdenovic (16), Svetislav Ristic (17) , Zoran Stanojevic (17), Dragan Trifkovic, and Ivan Radevic (25).
The security forces, together with the Serbian propaganda machine of the time, blamed the KLA for the attack. The whole world was alarmed about this murder. Immediately, in the following days, dozens of Albanians from Peja were arrested, tortured and imprisoned. Some of them were convicted and suffered in Serbian prisons up until some time after the liberation of Kosovo: Behar Bajri, Gazmend Bajrami, Xhevdet Bajrami, Agron Kollçaku, Vllaznim Pergjegjaj and Beqir Loxha. The youngest was 17 years old while the oldest was 22 years old.
The torture of Albanian prisoners who had been charged with murder was macabre. Behar Bajri was forced to eat soap; salt was thrown at the wounds caused by the tortures. He still suffers from mental illness as a result of torture.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, had stated several times that the "Panda" massacre was not carried out by the Albanians, admitting that this was a great fabrication. However, no indictment was ever filed nor was more said.
Davor Savicic, as it turned out, had written to a Serbian journalist on his Facebook profile Messenger, who had told him that he had information that Vucic's government was preparing to charge Savicic with the "Panda" massacre. This, as a counterweight to the American request to Serbia to reveal the case of the murder of the Bytyqi brothers, who had American citizenship.
The killers of young Serbs in "Panda" have not yet been brought to justice, despite the fact that in Serbia, pressure has been exerted by family members. Nothing has been said, neither about the fabrication, nor have the Albanians who were innocently tortured and convicted been compensated.
