The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, will visit Sweden this month to discuss the review of Kosovo's application for membership in the European Union, during the Swedish presidency of the EU Council.

From Bislimi's office, they say that Kosovo's application for obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU membership has received wide support from member states and EU institutions, for which they are in constant contact with partner states, especially with Sweden, which holds the presidency of the EU Council until June. In relation to this, they expressed optimism that there will be positive developments within this year for the acceptance of Kosovo's application for EU membership.

However, this process is seen differently by the two opposition parties, PDK and LDK, and those familiar with the EU's integration processes, who consider that Kosovo's path to the European Union depends on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the five countries that do not recognize Kosovo.
