He accuses the head of government of trying to send the country to early elections on July 7 for his own political purposes. According to Tahiri, Prime Minister Kurti wanted to touch the feelings of the citizens by using the parade of the KSF and the police on the 25th anniversary of the liberation and to open the Ibar Bridge before the elections, but as he says, the opposition did not fall into Kurti's trap.
Tahiri in an interview for KosovaPress says that the Government of Kosovo should come up with its own draft regarding the association, while he considers that the idea of the EU draft being submitted to the Venice Commission is just a "joke" of its own kind.
In addition, Tahiri says that the delegation of the Assembly of Kosovo next week will be in Strasbourg, where they will look at the possibilities of inviting an extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Ministers for the membership of Kosovo.
However, he adds that Kosovo will have difficulty being included in the agenda without a consensus of the member countries of the Council of Europe.Speaking about the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Tahiri considers it necessary for the European Union to change its approach after the elections of new structures in September.
The Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, told KosovaPress a few days ago that the government will consider the EU draft for the association only if Serbia fully implements the Brussels basic agreement and the Ohrid annex. /E.
