Smuggling of phones and suspected goods in Peja: seizure worth 30,000 euros
Relevant units of the Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, inspectors of the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK), and the Anti-Smuggling Unit of the Kosovo Customs, have carried out an operation against goods smuggling.
During a search conducted in the premises and vehicle of a male Kosovo suspect, authorities found undeclared goods suspected to have been smuggled.
According to police, the following items were seized: 160 Apple 20W charging adapters, 13 iPhones of various models, 13 mobile phones of different brands, one iPad, and two Apple Watches.
The goods were confiscated by Kosovo Customs officials, with an estimated value of around 30,000 euros.
“Inspectors of the Kosovo Tax Administration and the Anti-Smuggling Unit of Kosovo Customs carried out a search in the suspect’s premises and vehicle, where they found undeclared and suspected smuggled goods, including Samsung items, 1 undeclared iPad, 160 Apple 20W chargers, 13 iPhone smartphones of various models, 13 mobile phones of different types, and 2 Apple Watches. The seized goods were confiscated by customs officials and are estimated to be worth around thirty thousand (30,000) euros. The suspect was interviewed and, upon the prosecutor’s order, released, and the case will proceed in regular procedure,” the 24-hour police report states.
