Today marks six years after the death of the Albanian football legend Fadil Vokrri. He was one of the best Albanian footballers and is the most deserving for the formation of the Kosovo National Football Team and the admission of FFK to UEFA and FIFA.

Fadil Vokrri was born on July 23, 1960 in Podujeva. He started playing football at the age of 15, and at the age of 17 he made his debut at FC Llapi in Podujeva.

Then in 1980, he moved to FC Prishtina, where he played 84 games and scored 33 goals with this team in the Second League, while in the First League of Yugoslavia in the jersey of Prishtina, he had 88 appearances and 22 goals. The period of the 80s was golden for Vokrri, who in 1984 debuted in the representative team of Yugoslavia, becoming the only Albanian footballer who appeared in the representative team, where he recorded 12 appearances and scored 6 goals.

In 1986, he was transferred to Partizan of Belgrade, where he scored 13 goals in 27 games. He deservedly earned the epithet of the legend of Kosovar football, as he was the bearer of the Olympic flag at the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajeva in 1984, whereas in 1987 he was declared the best player in Yugoslavia.

In 1989 he moved to France to the Nimes team and then transferred to the Turkish club Fenerbahçe where he played quite successfully in the 1990-1992 editions. After his career in the Turkish championship, he returned to France where he lived with his family and played for a few more years for the lower French teams, Bourges and Montluçon, before ending his career.

After the liberation of Kosovo, he returned to his homeland, initially to help his former club Prishtina, in the position of director, while in February 2008 he took the helm of the Football Federation of Kosovo as the most suitable person to lead FFK- towards membership in UEFA and FIFA.

On January 15, 2016, Vokrri was entrusted with the third four-year term at the head of the FFK. He graduated from the Faculty of Management and Business. In addition to his mother tongue, he also spoke French, Turkish and Serbo-Croatian.

On the morning of June 9, 2018, while exercising in the gym, Vokrri suffered a heart attack and died at the age of 57.

Vokrri was given the last farewell with the highest state honors on June 10, while that day was a day of national mourning.
