The Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) is considered to be among the most important institutions in our country, as it has the responsibility to protect the national security and interests of Kosovo. The KIA plays an important role in monitoring potential threats and in intervening in situations that may affect the country's security.

The sensitivity to the performance of duties in the KIA, made the responsibilities to be on the shoulders of the officials, who must maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity to ensure that their work is effective and in accordance with the law.

Security experts assess as the main issues that the persons employed in KIA do not have political influences and that their past is clean from the legal and professional side.

At the beginning of this month, this agency announced a competition for several jobs, where the qualifications and responsibilities are specified.

The professor of security sciences, Avni Islami, in a statement for KosovaPress, says that a candidate who competes for an intelligence officer, in addition to the professional skills required for the relevant direction, is also important for his personal and family integrity.

He considers as a significant criterion that the candidate comes from a patriotic family, thus being ready at any time to sacrifice and work for the state of Kosovo.

Meanwhile, security expert Nuredin Ibishi for KosovaPress considers it very important that there are no political influences in the selection of candidates for positions in the Kosovar Intelligence Agency, for which he points out that there have been such in the past.

In addition, the strict background check of candidates competing for KIA jobs is another relevant fact that Ibishi mentions.

The Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) was officially established on June 19, 2019, after the approval of the Law on its establishment and operation in 2018.
