The Kosovo Police, after receiving information about a suspected warehouse in the city of Ferizaj, carried out operational and investigative actions that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of smuggled goods.

In connection with the case, relevant police units identified a Kosovo Albanian male suspect, who is believed to have used the warehouse to store smuggled items, allegedly transported through illegal routes from North Macedonia into the Republic of Kosovo.

After securing a verbal order from the competent prosecutor, a search was conducted at the suspected location, during which 800.4 kg of processed tobacco, 94 kg of honey, 30.4 kg of plastic packaging, 178 kg of paper packaging, one tobacco processing machine, one packaging processing machine, and a water sprayer used for tobacco treatment were seized.

The approximate value of the goods is around €16,500, while excise duties and customs evasion amount to approximately €34,000. Following the necessary police procedures, the seized goods have been handed over to Kosovo Customs for further proceedings.
